The maroon car

In the summer of 2018, 18-year-old Savannah “Savie” Davis — a high school senior — had a heated fight with her grandmother. Her grandmother dropped her off at her boyfriend Donald Farmer’s apartment in Ada, Oklahoma.

The last confirmed sighting was July 18, 2018. The Chickasaw Lighthorse Police list her as missing since July 20, 2018, last known to have been in the area of Ada.

Days later, when Savannah’s grandmother couldn’t reach her and asked the boyfriend, he said Savannah had left — gotten into a maroon car with people he couldn’t identify.

From that moment, Savannah has not been seen or heard from again.

And then: nothing official. For years, her grandmother told people she had reported Savannah missing — but no official report existed until 2023. Five years. By the time the case entered the system, the trail was five years cold.

Who Savie was

Savannah Ann Davis was 18, a high school senior, 5’5″ and 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She is listed by the Chickasaw Lighthorse Police Department — the tribal police force of the Chickasaw Nation — which still carries her missing-person poster. (The Charley Project lists her as 5’5″–5’7″, 160–180 lbs, with blonde hair and green eyes — a genuine conflict between the tribal-police poster and the Charley Project’s profile; both are noted here.)

Her story was featured in 2026 by Southern Girl Crime Stories alongside two other unsolved Oklahoma cases — one of “three haunting unsolved Oklahoma cases” with “suspicious behavior, conflicting accounts, and disappearances that have never been explained.”

The five-year gap

The defining fact of Savannah’s case isn’t just that she vanished — it’s that the system didn’t know for five years. The reasons behind the delay are not publicly clear. What is clear is what the delay cost: evidence faded, memories blurred, and the boyfriend’s account — a maroon car, unidentified people, days after the fact — was never tested when it was fresh.

It is a pattern this project has seen before: a family believes a report was filed; no report exists; years pass. For Savannah, those years were 2018 to 2023.

Theories: what might have happened

Foul play after the drop-off. An 18-year-old girl, dropped off after a fight, last seen at her boyfriend’s apartment — and the only account of what happened next comes from the boyfriend himself: a maroon car, strangers, no names. That account has never been corroborated. It is the thread the case hangs on, and it has never been pulled.

She left voluntarily and fell out of contact. Possible in the abstract — teenagers leave after fights. But eight years without a word to her grandmother, no Social Security trace anyone has mentioned, no contact with anyone: the silence argues against it.

The report gap swallowed the case. Whatever happened in July 2018, the five-year delay before an official report means the investigation started from near zero. This isn’t a theory of what happened to Savannah — it’s the reason we may never know.
