About

Our mission

Most missing-persons coverage online is thin: a photo, three facts, and a comment section full of speculation. Families deserve better, and so do the missing. Still Missing exists to give each case the attention it warrants — careful research, clear timelines, and honest sourcing — in the hope that awareness generates the one tip that brings someone home. No one should have to live with unanswered questions.

How we work

  • Primary sources first: law-enforcement statements, NamUs entries, court records, and reputable news reporting. Every factual claim links to its source.
  • We update: case profiles carry published and last-updated dates. When a case changes — a break, a recovery, a resolution — we update the profile and note what changed.
  • We correct: errors are fixed promptly and noted at the foot of the article.
  • No rumor as fact: theories are labeled as theories, with their source. We do not publish unverified claims from social media as though they were findings.
  • Respect is non-negotiable: we don’t sensationalize, we don’t publish graphic detail for shock value, and we never contact families for content. If a family asks us to amend or remove a profile, we listen first.
  • Only real photos: profile photographs are family- or law-enforcement-released missing-person awareness images. We never publish AI-generated faces of real people.

What we don’t do

We are not investigators and not affiliated with law enforcement or any television program. We don’t take tips — if you know something, contact the agency on the case profile. We don’t name private individuals as suspects.

Contact
